Public Activity of the Dynasty Foundation

During 2004–2005 the Dynasty Foundation was very active in developing Russian non-profit sector, enlightening and forming a positive public opinion regarding activities of charitable programs and organizations.

• In February 2005, Elena Chernyshkova, Executive Director of the Dynasty Foundation, headed the Council of the Donors Forum which is an association of major national and foreign grantmaking organizations. That was for the first time when the Forum was headed by a representative of Russian foundation. The mission of the Donors Forum is to facilitate the efficiency of grant-awarding activities aimed at developing a democratic civil society in Russia.

  The Council of the Donors Forum includes Nick Deychakiwsky, Program Manager of the C.S. Mott Foundation; Tatyana Zhdanova, Director of Russian Representative Office of the McArthurs Foundation; Larisa Zelkova, General Director of V. Potanin Charitable Foundation; Maria Chertok, Director of Russian Representative Office of the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). The Executive Secretary of the Donors Forum is Natalia Kaminarskaya.

• Within the framework of Russian non-profit sector development, the Dynasty Foundation participates in organization and supports the annual Moscow conference of the Donors Forum which is the major event for the non-profit sector. The 2004' Conference discussed the issues of transparency of donor activities. The topic of the 2005' Conference is «Public Expectations and Donors' Priorities».
• In spring 2005, Elena Chernyshkova became a co-organizer of a round table dealing with PR and promotion of, and strategies for obtaining resources for non-profit projects. The round table was held within the framework of the «PR Days in Moscow» annual conference of Russian Public Relations Association.
• Also in spring 2005, the Dynasty Foundation supported and became a co-organizer of the «Business, Charity and Mass Media» conference, the first conference dealing with charity issues organized by «Vedomosti» daily newspaper. The conference was a great success; it gathered more than 200 attendees representing mostly corporations which fund charitable programs, and donor organizations.
• In summer 2005, Elena Chernyshkova became a member of the Supervisory Committee of the Grantmakers East Group (GEG) annual international conference. The conference is attended by major foundations and grant-giving organizations working in Eastern and Western European countries, as well as in Russia and in the territory of the former USSR. The next, tenth annual GEG conference will be held in Kyiv in October 2005.
