The conference “Young Scientists of Russia–2014”. Awards ceremony

The Dynasty Foundation annually conducts these meetings for theoretical physicists—Dynasty grant winners.
Over 90 winners of the 2014 Young Physicists Competition—college and graduate students, young scientists with only an undergraduate degree, and candidates and doctors of science—participated in the conference.

The conference was held in Moscow 14–15 April 2014.

The main program included reports of doctors of physical and mathematical sciences, Dynasty grant winners, and lectures of the conference guests—professors A. A. Varlamov and Yu. Yu. Kovalev.

The conference “Young Scientists of Russia–2014”. Game “What? Where? When?”
The conference “Young Scientists of Russia–2014”. Awards ceremony

All conference participants could present their scientific interests at the poster session 14 April.

In addition to the science program, the laureates participated in the game “What? Where? When?”, answering intellectual but entertaining questions in physics and other subjects. The game players needed to remember Isaak Kikoin's motto, find the safe route for trucks returning from the blockaded Leningrad on the “Road of Life,” and discover the relation of a lyrical song to Olbers' paradox.

The conference participants continued asking questions, their own this time, at the awards ceremony. They addressed their questions to the next groups receiving diplomas of the Dynasty Foundation.

All the 2014 laureates received books from the Dynasty Foundation Library—the best popular science publications of recent years.

We thank Dynasty laureate Oleg Verkhodanov for active participation in preparing the questions.
