Science Days Popular Science Festivals

The Science Days Festival is a unique initiative of the Dynasty Foundation. It is oriented toward supporting and popularizing science.
The goal of the project is to awaken interest in scientific knowledge, discoveries, and achievements and also to involve young people in science.

In the more than three years of its existence, the project has been presented in different parts of the country from the Baltic Sea to the Far East: in Kaliningrad, Saint Petersburg, Krasnodar, Cheboksary, Ekaterinburg, Tomsk, Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk, Angarsk, Severodvinsk, Khabarovsk, and Vladivostok.
In 2010, Arkhangelsk and Rostov-on-Don will host the festival.
The interesting lecture themes, the outstanding scientists who answer questions, and the understandable presentation of the material—all this attracts people of different ages and professions to the events of the popular science festival in a format that is rare these days.
Since the beginning of the project, more than fifteen thousand people have visited the events of Science Days Festivals.

Science Days Festivals include the following events:
- Round tables with scientists, experts, journalists, and representatives of governmental and other organizations that are interested in science popularization (How to make the science profession prestigious? Science museum in the XXI century: From a scientific museum to the Museum of Science, Science popularization strategies, I'd become a scientist! But...—How to make young people interested in receiving education in science?)
- Open meetings with famous scientists—talk shows about popular science including fascinating scientists' reports that present interesting facts and the latest achievements in mathematics, physics, biology, history, geology, and other sciences and are accompanied by computer presentations
- Popular science lectures for young people in which interactive materials and Popular Science Theater performances are used
- Master classes for teachers of physics, mathematics, chemistry, and biology informing teachers about new methods and forms of teaching the subjects of the science spectrum in the secondary school
- Showings of the popular science film series From Adam to Atom (the author of the series is Professor Kiselev, Doctor of Biological Sciences, head of a laboratory of the Vavilov Institute of General Genetics, RAS)
